Bio: Married to Rose Marie since 1969, Dave is a Vietnam veteran working and living locally since 1976. In 1979 he became a Florida state certified building contractor and started in business with a small two-man company remodeling kitchens and baths. In 1983 Sawgrass Plantation Enterprises, Inc. was born.
In 1989 Dave became a Florida state certified general contractor and joined the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). In 1993 he also became a Florida state certified roofing contractor.
Dave has actively pursued continuing
education opportunities over the last 25 years in order to
provide the best information to employees and customers

Name: GENE P. CARROLL SR.
Position: Production Manager
Bio: Gene served in Viet-Nam with the 1st Marine Division, and met his wife while recovering from wounds in 1968. He has been married for 40 years, with 2 sons, and 2 grand children, Gene and his wife Adelaide moved to Florida in the late 70’s.
Prior to joining the Sawgrass team, Gene owned his own Construction Company having as many as 40 employees at one time. He contracted to build new custom homes, along with hotel, motel renovations, and custom built restaurants.
After more than 30 years in business he met Dave Sipos, and agreed that together with both of their experience in building, and having much in common they could increase the business at Sawgrass, and compliment each others diversity.
His expertise, with hands on construction practices, and field knowledge has been a great help in the continued training of Sawgrass personnel.
Gene attended Hartford University for engineering and architectural design and has helped customers with decision making for their projects.

Name: Scott Vita
Position: Estimator
Bio: Originally from the New England area, Scott has been working in the construction industry for 22 years. Scott is experienced in many areas of construction, including commercial and residential projects.
After relocating to Daytona Beach in 1996 he became part of the Sawgrass team in 1997. Since joining Sawgrass, Scott has worked his way from the field, to the office.
His work experience as a carpenter in the northeast has proven quite valuable, and our customers have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Scott throughout his 10 years with the company.

Name: JAMIE BUTO
Position: Office Manager
Bio: With 25 years of experience in business administration, and corporate accounting, Jamie accounts for every aspect of our office. She joined Sawgrass in 2007, and has taken part in helping with new approaches to keeping our office running properly.
Originally from Kentucky, Jamie moved to south Florida in 1967, and returned to Kentucky in 1976. She attended the University of Kentucky until 1983. Returning to Florida, she was office manager for a medium sized residential/commercial contractor, who also owned a development company.
Jamie was married in 1985, and has 3 children. Jamie has proven to be valuable in helping us reach our next goal.

Position: Project Manager
Bio: John was born in Maryland and raised in the Daytona Beach area. He is a graduate from Mainland High School in 1980, is married and has two children. He has been employed at Sawgrass Plantation Enterprises, Inc. since 1983. John has first hand knowledge of construction practices, and is a state certified building contractor (FOLIC# CBC049061), since November of 1989. He is very familiar with state and local building requirements that impact multiple jobs.
With 25 years experience, John is a valued and respected leader in our company. His professional knowledge is in all phases of new construction and remodeling. He is a perfectionist that takes pride in each and every job. He is a leader in the field and works in the field. His warrantee is seen in the final production of the jobs he oversees and works on.

Bio: Married with 2 children, Gene is a graduate of Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange. While still in high school he worked summers with his father, who was involved in the conversions of hotel into time share properties, and building new homes in the greater Daytona Beach area.
Gene owned his own concrete, and remodeling business, but found a
good opportunity, and future with Sawgrass.
He is a well rounded employee, with good leadership capabilities, and knowledge of all areas of construction, both commercial and residential. He is a valued addition to Sawgrass.
Name: DOUGLAS CAVINDER
Position:
Carpenter/Supervisor
Bio: A graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, Doug is married with 2 children, and does a lot of volunteer work with his family church. Doug invested in rental property and soon learned that it would benefit him to learn how to repair and remodel.
He now has a good working knowledge of many phases of the construction remodeling business, including knowledge of masonry, plumbing, and electrical work.
Doug has been on the Sawgrass team for 7 years, and has been one of our job supervisors for some time now. Doug has a good working relationship with both our customers, and our employees.
Name: ERIC MOBLEY
Position:
Carpenter/Lead Man
Bio: With a High School education, and also attending College in his spare time, Eric is currently a Lance/Corporal in the U.S. Marines Active Reserve. Eric has been on the Sawgrass team for 5 years, and was involved in the construction business with his father, and uncle, prior to his employment with Sawgrass.
Eric is a strong worker with excellent carpentry and roofing skills along with a working understanding of framing layout and trim carpentry.
He is a dependable worker, who has the ability to take charge when needed.
Name: STEVEN SIPOS
Position: Carpenters Helper
Bio: Steven has been around the building business his entire life. Steven is the son of David L. Sipos, the President and CEO of Sawgrass.
He transferred from Gainesville University to return to one of his current passions of possibly following his father’s foot steps in the construction trade. He is working part-time as he continues to pursue his college education in Business Administration.
He has learned the trade from the ground floor. Framing, roofing, and foundation grading, along with assisting others in the field, are part of his experience.
